Anne Cassidy joined Laurie & Co in 2015 from Duthie Ward Solicitors bringing with her over 20 years of specialised practice in divorce, separation and child related legal matters. She recognises the damaging impact of protracted disputes and the effect on the wider family especially any children. Her focus is on assisting clients reach effective agreement through focused and pragmatic advice with a view to avoiding unnecessary escalation of conflict. She encourages the use of alternative processes such as Collaborative Practice and Mediation which are designed to allow those separating to reach an agreement which best suits their own circumstances and needs and that of their children where relevant. Where litigation is required she has a wealth of experience in guiding clients successfully through divorce and child law disputes in both the Sheriff Court and Court of Session.
