Linda is a Solicitor Advocate specialising in dispute resolution with rights of audience in the Sheriff Court, Court of Session and the Supreme Court. Her experience spans commercial disputes, including company law and contract law, property law and insolvency cases. She regularly provides employment law advice and representation at employment tribunals in addition to her Sheriff Court appearances. Linda’s clients benefit from her fearless determination and focus in litigation as well as her keen understanding of the commercial practicalities which they face.

Caroline has specialised in the area of Private Client law for over 15 years; providing tailored advice to individuals, families, business owners and Trustees.

Her expertise involves assessing with clients the extent of the assets they own, their family dynamics and assisting them to plan for their families and dependent persons. Such work can include the preparation of Wills, and associated Inheritance Tax advice and ensuring that clients are fully informed as to the benefits of having Powers of Attorney in place.

Caroline's approach is holistic in that to provide the best service for her clients, in regard to their personal circumstances and future objectives, it is prudent to engage with other private client specialists such as financial advisers and accountants.

She also has expertise in the creation and ongoing management of Trusts such as Discretionary, and Liferent Trusts and Trusts established for the benefit of vulnerable beneficiaries. Her work also involves the administration of estates and she has experience of dealing with complex estate work.

Caroline is a member of the Society of Trust and Estate Practitioners which is the worldwide professional association for practitioners who specialise in succession planning for private clients.

Caroline is also a Postgraduate Law Tutor at the Robert Gordon University Aberdeen and was instrumental in preparing and teaching to provide the first Distance Learning Diploma for Professional Legal Practice in Scotland. Caroline also has a first degree in Biomedical Science (Neuroscience).

She is also a Notary Public and is registered with the Foreign and Commonwealth Office. .

Stephanie is the Solicitor in charge of our Property and Estate Agency department at our Aberdeen Office.
She specialises in conveyancing and property law, predominately acting for clients in the sale, purchase and remortgage of residential property. Stephanie also advises on current market conditions and trends. She has an in-depth knowledge of the Aberdeen and Aberdeenshire market having worked in both areas.
Stephanie is also a Postgraduate Lecturer at Robert Gordon University teaching conveyancing in the Diploma for Professional Legal Practice in Scotland. She is also a Notary Public.

Anne Cassidy joined Laurie & Co in 2015 from Duthie Ward Solicitors bringing with her over 20 years of specialised practice in divorce, separation and child related legal matters. She recognises the damaging impact of protracted disputes and the effect on the wider family especially any children. Her focus is on assisting clients reach effective agreement through focused and pragmatic advice with a view to avoiding unnecessary escalation of conflict. She encourages the use of alternative processes such as Collaborative Practice and Mediation which are designed to allow those separating to reach an agreement which best suits their own circumstances and needs and that of their children where relevant. Where litigation is required she has a wealth of experience in guiding clients successfully through divorce and child law disputes in both the Sheriff Court and Court of Session

Mary-Jay is a full time solicitor based in our Ballater Office and has always worked in rural legal practices. Mary-Jay deals with a variety of legal work including residential sales, purchases and leases whilst also carrying out private client work such as preparation of Wills, living Wills and Powers of Attorney. Additionally, Mary-Jay is a Notary Public.

Nicola has recently joined Laurie & Co's highly experienced Private Client Team bringing with her over 17 years of experience in Conveyancing, Private Client, Commercial Leases and Insolvency. Her focus at Laurie & Co. will be Executries, Wills and Powers of Attorney. With an open and sympathetic manner, Nicola's aim is to make these often difficult subjects approachable and accessible.
Based in our newly opened Aboyne Office, Nicola will also have a weekly presence in our Aberdeen and Ballater Offices.
Nicola has been a Notary Public since 1995 and is registered with the Foreign and Commonwealth Office

Kerry joined a long established English firm of solicitors in 1998 as a trainee legal executive in their private client and probate department. She qualified as a member of Institute of Legal Executives in 2002 and a fellow in 2004. She then went on to qualify as a solicitor and was admitted to the Rolls of Solicitors in England in 2008.
She moved to Scotland in 2013 and in 2016 joined a rural practice as an executry assistant.
She joins us as an executry legal executive and brings with her over 20 years experience in private client. She works out of both our Aboyne and Aberdeen office.

Amanda is a Paralegal in our Property Department at our Aberdeen Office. She has been employed in the legal profession for over 30 years, joining Laurie & Company in 2019. Amanda started working life as a Legal Secretary and retrained as a Paralegal, attaining an HNC in Legal Services in 2001. She specialises in conveyancing which includes sales, purchases, re-mortgages and transfers of title of residential properties. Outside work Amanda is kept busy by three children and enjoys various sporting activities, her favourite being volleyball.

She is now into the second year of her traineeship with the firm, specialising in the sale, purchase, re-finance and transfers of title for residential property

Shona is our Sales & Leasing Manager who has a wealth of experience in the property industry. Having gained her ARLA qualification in leasing, Shona has the required knowledge and experience to assist in all aspects of leasing but is also extremely experienced in property sales. Previous roles prior to working in the property industry were very heavily customer based with intense customer service training, providing her with outstanding interpersonal skills. Shona's passion for property and excellent customer service shine through and make her ideal for dealing with our sales and leasing clients.
